Cast iron gearbox. Ariens is the only company using them, look at the aluminum gearboxes on other snowblowers and compare. Ariens warranties their gearboxes for 5yrs, and the snowblowers for 3. B&S engine, Made in the usa. Compare this to the 2yr warranty on Craftsman made in China.
I ordered from Wise on a saturday, my 250lb snowblower shipped on monday and was at my home on the east coast by friday.Took about 30 mins to install the chute and handle... out of the box, started on the first pull. It snowed the next day! love my ariens snowblower. (Posted on 1/21/12)

I think that this was a pretty good price without sales tax.There was little assembly to do after un-packing. This machine will probably last at lease ten years plus. I would recommend this snowblower to anyone. (Posted on 1/2/12)

I pre-ordered this unit in Oct. I was pleased to receive the snowblower before the first snow. The people at Wise were kind and aside from Ariens being behind on production (which I confirmed with a call to them directly) the staff was as helpful as they could be. The machine arrived on a semi from FedEx, which had some issues finding my house. Once the driver got to my house, it was lifted off the truck in 3 mins flat. I also got the liftgate because there is no way I'm trying to strong-arm that thing. I had the unit assembled - I RECOMMEND YOU DO TO - so, it came in a 2x4 crate that they must have built. All I had to do was open the crate, put gas in it and start it up because it already had oil (I checked). It purred as I drove it off the crate. I think they must have had a mechanic make adjustments to it. I am very pleased with my purchase experience. I'll gladly refer my friends and neighbors. Thanks wise sales. (Posted on 12/17/11)
