What I expected Review by Kary

Used my 2400HC for the first time today, purchased it in January. While I was charging the batteries in my travel trailer (batteries had about a 20% charge) thought I would try the a/c. It started right up and the genset didn't even skip a beat. The a/c unit is 13500 btu. Worked just as advertised. Big thanks to Yamaha and Wise Sales. You won't go wrong with either. Excellent Shopping Experience Review by Ray

My first review - this was too good to remain quiet. I shopped several sites; Wise had the best price. I called the 800 number to verify the availability. The service rep was very pleasant. He confirmed the availability, corrected the misleading internet display for available stock, verified that the product was appropriate for my intended use, and took my order. I placed the order on a Tuesday morning and the generator was at my door on Thursday morning. It arrived in perfect condition. I added oil and gas and it started on the 1st pull. I connected it to my small travel trailer and turned on the 13500BTU air conditioner with no problem. Thank you Wise for great service, product and price. (Posted on 3/9/12)
Pricey But The It's The Best Review by Flail

My family just bought a travel trailer and we set a goal to find a generator that allowed us to power it while dry-docking or staying in a campground that had no electricity. We wanted it to run all of our needs while camping and be efficient and quite. After exhaustive research I decided to go with the 2400ISHC. I purchased the generator from Wise and was impressed with the overall experience. After firing it up I soon realized that after all the cyber descriptions I had finally got to see and hear it for myself. All the great reviews are accurate. It is a workhorse and it is very quite. My friend has the Honda EU2000iA and I was impressed with how quiet it was. Now I have to say that at standard load, the Yamaha is quieter. Although I did not use it with my AC, there was nothing that I threw at it that it didn’t handle.

I guess it is only fair to state my opinion about the cons. For one, it is expensive. It was hard to justify the price UNTIL you see it in action. Also, it would be better if there were some place you could secure it to the frame for theft protection. If you wrap a chain around the handles, taking out a simple bolt is all you would need to steal it. I ended up drilling a hole through the steal frame portion that the handles attach to and strung a master lock python through it.

Other than those two cons, I have nothing negative to say about this unit. It out performs the Honda by that 5% and that was enough to satisfy me.

Great lightweight quiet unit Review by Al

Took delivery on the Yamaha EF2400iSHC the other day. Added oil and gas, it started on the first pull. Just purrs at idle, not much louder with a 5000BTU AC or 18 cu. ft. fridge (except at start up), and runs either one and a 1/3HP sump pump at the same time. Obviously, you can go to Home Depot and get something with a lot more power for a lot less money. However, they tend to be LOUD, less efficient and unsuitable for running a computer or modern TV, all of which should be a consideration if you might be without power for a few days. I swallowed hard at the price tag, but it was definitely money well spent. (Posted on 1/7/12)
Perfect Generator Review by speedy

I have both the Honda 2000i and just recently bought this Yamaha 2400i. The Honda is nice and portable, whereas this Yamaha is a little larger & heavier, however the Honda WILL NOT run my A/C on my travel trailer, this Yamaha WILL run my A/C & Refrigerator at same time. I have no complaints what so ever with this generator. This Yamaha makes exact same amount of noise as my Honda so do not think because its bigger it will be louder as it is not. (Posted on 1/7/12)
OUTSTANDING GENERATOR Review by CAMPING NUT

I have now owned my Yamaha EF2400is for 4 years and it has served me well. Here in western Washington we get some serious windstorms that knock out power for days. This generator runs and runs, automatically adjusting to changes in load, and does it quietly. With a light load, this generator will run for 9 hours before you need to refill it, which means a night of uninterrupted sleep. Put in some gas, pull the handle once or twice and you are good to go. I highly recommend this product. (Posted on 1/7/12)
Good price--good machine Review by Kenneth

Gen set arrived in good condition--well packed. After adding oil and fuel it started on the first pull. Very quiet at idle. After letting it run for 1/2 hour, I connected my 30 amp RV cord and turned on our Coleman High Efficiency A/C which draws only 10.2 amps. The Yamaha started and ran the A/C with no problem at all, and I was surprised that the rpm/noise level was not much higher than with no load. Ambient temp was 72 degrees. Based on this first impression, I believe it will be able to run the A/C at the same time the converter is doing full charging of the batteries. Will have to wait for spring to determine that. Highly recommend this product. (Posted on 11/29/11)

I live in Kansas and the free shipping was three days, which was great. Wisesales was the best price on the internet. I like the discount on paying by check and would have used it if time was not a factor. The generator is bigger than the pictures indicate. Added oil, fuel and it started on second try. Suggest ordering the wheel kit, I will be soon. (Posted on 11/6/11)
Great generator inverter Review by Kengary950

Extremely quiet. Lots of power. The only fault is that it hiccups when starting a 7 1/4 " makita chop saw and a rigid fuego 7 1/4" circular saw. This I believe is because it has no Eco switch override. Both tools will run after a brief stall I just hope that will not damage the power tool. Might have to look into soft start models of the previously mentioned tools. (Posted on 11/4/11)
Excellent choice for RV power Review by Wildelk

2400iSHC works great with my Coleman Mach 3+ 13500 BTU air conditioner. Had to install the SPP6 Hard Start capacitor, my Fleetwood Orbit didn't have one at all and the AC couldn't get going.

After installing the SPP6 (Amazon or Grainger has them $16-28) the generator barely raises the RPM's to start the AC and it runs just fine. With the AC not running it has no problem with the microwave and anything else in the trailer.

Mine did ship with one of the plastic tabs on the front shroud broken, I will give Wisesales a call and see what they can do. (Posted on 10/28/11)
